Summer Solstice Special Round Robin Recap
We had a gorgeous night to welcome summer with tennis this past Thursday! 32 players and several spectators enjoyed playing some wacky team tennis with interesting rules. Sweat bands were given to help designate team members with names like ‘Blue Moons’, ‘Pink Panthers’, ‘Purple People Eaters’ and ‘Orange Sunsets’. The teams played each other rotating players during the games in 20 minute segments. Music played to define the start and stop of each segment. Scores reflected the number of games won by the teams in each segment.
Congratulations to the ‘Green Hornets’ and the ‘Yellow Submarines’ who tied with 19 games each. Most people ended the night at the pool bar and grill while they socialized during the karaoke already in progress.
Thank you to Dawn McKenna for the delicious watermelon slices served during the event. Cathy Murawski made sure we had a scoreboard and plenty of iced down drinks. We always appreciate Jim Robertson for capturing the fun with photos and providing the music to play by.
We hope you have enjoyed the specialty round robins. Summer Solstice was the last one for this year but the monthly round robins will continue through the year.
